The Good Food and Good Book Club
meets randomly, but always with good notice.
Our principle joy is to share good food and great discussion of a book we have agreed previously to read.  We have tackled The Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren, Outside Eden by Peter Short, The Heart of Christianity, by Marcus Borg and Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.  Always open to suggestions, always open to new members... you don't even have to have read the book, since you can still enjoy the food.  Join us - but beware: It's potluck!
Read Through the Bible is a small group of folks who
expressed an interest to read the whole of our sacred scriptures together.  We meet the first Monday of the month, having read one or two of the biblical books at home.  We have no urgent deadline, and will finish when we finish- new friends always welcome at any point along this journey!
The Wilderness People at Gower grew out of one person's passion to connect her faith and her concern for the land in which we live.  We have a partnership with the Protected Areas Association of NL, and together we are working towards greater awareness of local areas of concern, including the Mealy Mountains and Ripple Pond.  Our most recent effort was to inform the government of Newfoundland and Labrador of our concern for the proposed reduction in size of the Mealy Mountains park.  Go to Links on this website to connect to PAANL.
E-Gower is an electronic newsletter which goes out to subscribers who have requested it.  It's purpise is to connect us with our faith
in the workplace, or wherever we happen to be mid-week
when the e-mail reaches us.  Check past blogs on this website, and then send us a request to subscribe.
Mentorship Program  For adults who are seeking to explore their faith more deeply, with a view to enriching their involvement in the life of the congregation, possibly through membership.  Individuals in the program are partnered with mentors to work one-on-one through a resource which encourages in-depth conversations on faith, life, and vocation.  With support from others in the same program, and the guidance of one of the clergy the program normally takes 13 sessions over approximately 4 months.  People may choose to become members of the congregation at the end of this process, either through profession of faith or transfer of membership.
